AgroPonic with Drip Tapes Inserted
AgroPonic Systems TM (patent pending)

AgroPonic Systems is a fully-integrated self-contained crop planting-bed system which uses a continuous, seamless plastic growing tube and soilless growing medium.  Its design accommodates commercial scale agricultural operations providing superior yield, immunity to soil borne diseases and savings in water and nutrients.  AgroPonic systems works with existing farm equipment compatible with traditional outdoor field culture techniques.

The system is installed through placement of a plastic tube on farm site using a tractor towed Installation wagon.  The substrate used in AgroPonic systems is formed from buffered coco-peat material, dried and compressed into plank form.  The insertion of each plank and integration of Drip-Tape irrigation is performed simultaneously through a preloaded sleeving chute with tubing material pre-sleeved by a mechanized sleever.

Once the AgroPonic tubes are laid, there is no other preparation required to begin planting. When the irrigation system is activated, the planks will hydrate and expand to meet the dimensions of an ideal planting bed.

The system replaces costly multi-step land preparation. Most importantly, it eradicates the need for hazardous fumigants and chemicals.  AgroPonic creates extended growing seasons allows farmers to bypass costly crop rotation practices.

Mission:

AgroPonic Systems revolutionizes agricultural production by creating new growing opportunities in environments that are considered uncultivable while at the same time achieving a significant increase in crop yields compared with traditional soil based cultivation.  This means not only the creation of economic opportunity, but also the ability for famine stricken areas to develop efficient food sources.

Facing today’s Challenges:

Traditional methods of field and land cultivation require expensive soil
preparation procedures prior to planting.
The environmental impact of sterilization and post-harvest material disposal is mounting and forcing farmers to develop more sustainable forms of agriculture.

Traditional methods include: soil conditioning, fumigation, and application of herbicides.
  • Fields high in clay or rock content require extensive tilling and top soil replacement
  • Pending ban on the popular fumigant methyl bromide further is forcing farmers to develop alternative methods of soil sterilization.

Agroponic Systems will addresses these issues by eliminating soil conditioning and sterilization altogether.  Agroponic Systems will allow for a higher crop yield and increased crop value.

  • Cost increases in labor, chemicals, energy and materials.
  • Available technology increases crop harvesting yield and extends farmable periods.
  • Desire for higher-value crops such as organically produced agriculture.

Solutions & Advantages of AgroPonic Systems TM:
  • AgroPonic Systems TM offers turnkey solutions to commercial level agriculture for previously unproductive land by placing our systems directly on any surface, supporting racks or even hanging them in spaces. Their flexibility allows them to be placed on or above any topography.
  • AgroPonic Systems TM is a soilless, self-contained system eliminating the need for methyl-bromide and other soil fumigants.
  • AgroPonic Systems TM converts previously un-arable lands into profit generating acreage. (buffer zones, contaminated areas, land high in clay content)
  • AgroPonic Systems TM can be customized to fit unconventional field layouts and configurations and are compatible with existing harvest equipment (ie, mudder tractors and harvesters).
  • AgroPonic Systems TM grow tubes are engineered from a mechanically perforated High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) blown plastic film tubing and/or highly durable, air/water permeable, woven Polyethylene fabric with strong UV resistance (rated for 2 seasons grow period) and is recyclable.
  • AgroPonic Systems TM extends the standard harvest season allowing farmers to avoid crop rotations and the costs of growing less valuable plants in between harvest cycles.
  • AgroPonic Systems TM houses an integrated irrigation drip-tape that is inserted during the filling and installation process eliminating the need for expensive inefficient overhead sprinkler systems.
  • AgroPonic Systems TM formulated organic grow media can be charged with slow release organic fertilizers / nutrients that can classify your crop yield as certified high value organic produce.
  • AgroPonic Systems TM provides an alternative cultivation method to traditional hydroponics and green-house techniques which have proven to be highly efficient and offer increased sustainability with large scale commercial implementation.
  • AgroPonic Systems TM   cylindrical grow tubes offer a protected and fully contained growing environment creating consistent and ideal conditions conducive to healthy root balls and productive plants.

AgroPonic Grow Medium
Other Components of AgroPonic Systems

Drip tape

v  Special designed Drip-tape 510-12-450;

v  12” emitter spacing aligned with the triangle center of 3 plants;

v  5/8" in diameter, 10 mil thickness, to ensure more than 3 seasons usage

v  High 0.45 gallons per minute per 100 ft flow rate.

Interlock Raised Platform (Optional)

v  UV resistance plastic grading with product life cycle of 10 years

v  Platform has a 1-degree slope for slow drainage

v  Drainage can be discharged or re circulated with AgroPonic's gutter system

v  Improves harvesting efficiency by eliminating back bending

Recirculation Gutter system (Optional)

v Uses conventional aluminum gutters

v  Specially designed wire hooks suspend gutters under the platform

v  Hose connection recirculates nutrient and water drainage

v Compatible with existing farm pumps and irrigation equipment

Irrigation & Fertilization Programs (Optional)

v  Strawberries are very sensitive to a high nutrient content. Specifically the start requires a low EC value; otherwise the plant will form flowers too early, which results in a small plant with less fruit, which will result in a lower crop yield.

v  AgroPonic is staffed with professional hydroponic experts to consult management of irrigation program and able to design special formula for custom nutrient depending on water analysis test results.

Land-Prep Services & Consulting (Optional)

v  Consultation in initial Land-prep

v  Land grading / leveling services

v  Installation of site Erosion Control and fence
