AgroSystems is a fully-integrated self-contained crop planting-bed system which uses a continuous, plastic growing tube and soilless growing medium.  Its design supports commercial scale agricultural operations by providing: superior yield, immunity to soil borne diseases and savings in water and nutrients.  AgroSystems eliminates costly unsustainable fumigation practices and is compatible with existing farm equipment and conventional open-field culture techniques.

AgroSystems development is focused on the following key principles:

1.

Land preparation fumigation elimination
With fully encased the growing substrate, AgroSystems effectively forms a barrier between the plant, substrate and the underlying soil.  This barrier quarantines the crop and substrate and protects against the threat of naturally occurring soil-borne diseases, pests and weeds.   AgroSystems eliminates the need to sterilize the underlying soil thus eliminating the need for dangerous fumigants such as methyl bromide.
2.       Maximization of land
AgroSystems can be installed on any surface and allows farmers to grow on land that is considered unsuitable for cultivation.  These areas include buffer zones, nutrient deficient land and land high in rock or clay content.  AgroSystems is also ideal for rooftop growing operations
3.       Efficient Nutrient and Irrigation management
Using cutting edge hydroponic tehchnology, AgroSystems allows for crop--specific nutrient and water micromanagement.  AgroSystems grant farmers precise irrigation and nutrient controls allowing farmers to irrigate and fertilize in specific required quantities.  This translates to a significant reduction in water and nutrients.
4.       Increased yield/ improved crop qualities (firmness, sweetness, taste)
Precise nutrient and water administration lends to a more vigorous higher yielding crop and creates extended growing seasons and early harvests.  Flavor and sweetness can be fine tuned with adjustments in nutrients.  Crops cultivated using AgroSystems show superior firmness relative to conventional field grown crops.  This is made possible through efficient nutrient uptake and translates to extended shelf and ship life.
5.       Maximize Commercial Agronomics
AgroSystems compatibility with existing farm equipment and tractors work in conjunction with large scale traditional outdoor field operations.  Complete ready-to-plant AgroSystems are delivered via folded panels in 50’ sections for efficient shipping and installation.  No other preparation required to begin planting.  Initial irrigations will hydrate each plant and the Agrosystems will expand to meet the dimensions of an ideal planting bed.

Mission:

AgroSystems revolutionizes agricultural production by creating growing opportunities in environments that are considered uncultivable.  AgroSystems enables a significant increase in crop yield compared with traditional soil based cultivation.  AgroSystems not only allows creation of economic opportunity, but also the ability for famine stricken areas to develop efficient food sources.

AgroSystems design features & Benefits:

AgroSystems Grow Tube:

1)      Grow Tube- using a continuous UV resistant heavy duty commercial grade plastic Tubing as effective barrier against soil-borne pathogens, pests and weeds.  Puncture and tear resistant with UV inhibitors allow 3 year repeat growing lifespan without re-cultivate land.

2)      Center channel – provide directional center drainage to prevents muddy/ flooded furrows

3)      Micro Aeration pinholes throughout the planting area - allow evaporation and gas exchange and help to keep substrate water availability at ideal levels (50-65%). Also provides aeration during fruiting to prevent contact rotting

Pre-installed Growth Substrate:

1)      Grow Substrate – is pre-installed of compressed and dehydrated Coco or Bamboo peat

2)      Substrate is to expand upon the irrigation system is activated to the dimensions of an ideal planting bed.

Pre-Integrated Drip irrigation lines:

1)      AgroSystems employs pre-installed and intergraded subsurface drip irrigation lines to provide a slow even application of low pressure water to soil and plants at the root zone.

2)      This significantly reduces runoff and water lost to evaporation and also prevents standing water or puddling which may contribute to the onset of disease.

3)      Drip irrigation also enables farmers to apply a steady flow of nutrients on schedule and in precise calibrated quantities.

4)      Eliminate need to set up costly sprinkler system

Customizable & Alternating pre-cut planting patterns

1)      Allows for optimal spacing to accommodate different crop varieties and their individual spacing requirements

2)      Supports multi -configuration planting patterns and pattern rotations between seasons

Monitoring equipment (Sold separately)

AgroSystems works in conjunction with Decagon EM series monitoring equipment specially calibrated for AgroSystems’ substrate.  Monitoring equipment will allow farmers to configure an effective irrigation strategy which will ensure sufficient irrigation and prevent over watering and accurate nutrient administration.

Redefining Sustainability:

Traditional methods of field and land cultivation require expensive soil
preparation procedures prior to planting.
The environmental impact of sterilization and post-harvest material disposal is mounting--forcing farmers to develop more sustainable forms of agriculture.

Traditional methods include: soil conditioning, fumigation, and application of herbicides.
  • Fields high in clay or rock content require extensive tilling and top soil replacement
  • Pending ban on the popular fumigant methyl bromide further is forcing farmers to develop alternative methods of soil sterilization.

AgroSystems addresses these issues by eliminating soil conditioning and sterilization altogether.  Moreover, AgroSystems generates higher crop yield and increased crop value.

  • Cost increases in labor, chemicals, energy and materials.
  • Available technology increases crop harvesting yield and extends farmable periods.
  • Desire for higher-value crops ie organic fruits and vegetables.
